Who we are

fadepedia ("we", "us", or "our") operates this website at fadepedia.com. We publish barber gear rankings and fade guides. You can reach us at [email protected] with any privacy questions.

Information we collect

We collect very little, and we never ask you to create an account. In practice that means:

• Basic analytics data. We use a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool (Umami) to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us. It records aggregate, non-identifying signals such as page views, referring site, approximate region, and device type. It does not build advertising profiles and does not follow you across other websites.
• Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

We do not knowingly collect names, payment details, or precise location, and we do not collect personal information from children under 13.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use only essential cookies and privacy-friendly analytics cookies. We do not run third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media trackers on this site.

• Essential. A small local setting remembers that you dismissed our cookie notice so it does not reappear.
• Analytics. Our self-hosted Umami instance uses minimal, cookie-light measurement to count visits in aggregate. No data is shared with ad networks.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work normally if you do.

Affiliate links

fadepedia is reader-supported and contains affiliate links. When you click a "Check Price" link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those outbound retailers operate their own websites and set their own cookies and privacy practices once you leave fadepedia, which we do not control. We rank gear on barber consensus and honest tradeoffs, not on commission.

How we use information

We use the limited information above to operate and improve the site, including to:

• understand which guides and rankings are useful so we can write better ones,
• keep the site secure and working correctly, and
• respond to messages you send us.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share limited data with service providers that help us run the site (for example, our hosting provider), and we may disclose information if required by law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

We keep aggregate analytics only as long as it is useful and retain emails for as long as needed to respond. We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
